The photos below are of birds. They were taken in 5 different photo sessions. Sometimes, you can grab a camera and head into a groove just to find no birds at all, and at other times you find rare birds as soon as you step outside of your apartment.
The first sessions in this album was taken in the central park in Lund. The photos aren't anything special and the session was short. Most successful were some photos of rats (Rattus norvegicus). After that, while in the park outside of Lund University Library, the photographer spotted a goldcrest (Regulus regulus). These are the smallest bird species in Sweden and they do not commonly appear in cities like this. So the very next day the photographer grabbed his camera and zoom lens and went out to capture the goldcrests, and to his surprise he found about 5 individuals in the park.
In November the photographer took another trip to take photos of birds. Once again the walk was to the university library park and then a trip around the engineering faculty. On this day the birds were few. However, once the photographer entered the botanical garden, birdsong filled the trees together with birds playing among its branches. Somewhere around there the photographer heard a strange sound. He saw a female blackbird (Turdus merula) which he tried to get a good angle of when the sound appeared again. When he turned around he discovered a red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) looking right back at him. The squirrel did not try to run away and was instead fixated onto the camera and the huge lens.
Two weeks later the photographer went back to the botanical garden to take more bird photos. Around that time it had also suddenly snowed. His feet were cold as he went back into the same groove again. Then once again he heard the sound. Right above him was the same squirrel again. Curious about the camera it stared at it steadily until some people walked past and it ran away.
Speaking of squirrels, the photographer ran into this Brazilian tourist under a ginko tree. In the tree was another squirrel and he stood there with his camera and tried to get a photo of the animal. My wife loves red squirrels, so she will be happy to see this photo, he told to the photographer.
