The City Park

Below are photos taken in Lund city park in 2017. At that time the pond was filled with goldfish. Lund multiplicity said in 2013 that a few fish were likely tossed in a few years ago and their population drastically increased over a summer.ref These can be seen on the surface as a red moving school. People who visit the park come and feed the ducks which the fish also quickly eat up. However, the goldfish has become food for the herons which has created an ecological cycle within the park.

In May fletchings appear in the park. They swim across the lake under the spring sky together with their parents as they search out food for them. This upbringing starts in May and continues throughout the summer with different families of birds. Unfortunately not every bird makes it to adulthood and the breeding season can become turbulent. During breeding season some male mallards become violent and force themselves onto females (rape). In some cases the female mallard already has ducklings in which they can become separated from their mother and become food for opportunistic crows. Although this was witnessed during the shoot for this album, no pictures of this type of incident have been captured.

In June the young bird's presence has become a vital part of the park's atmosphere. The new generation of hatchlings swim in swarms together with their parents. Meanwhile, the older birds from May put their ability to search for food to use. At this age their childlike spirit still remains strong to which young jackdaws can be seen playing with fallen leaves or feathers they found, not unlike human children.
