In The People's Park (Folkparken) in Malmö, there exists an ominous reptiles center. The front of the center looks like a regular kiosk, however, if you go inside and buy an entrance ticket you may enter through a door in the back of the souvenir shop. As you pass onto the inside the decorations stand out and the air feels humid like if inside a rainforest. That in combination with the aquarium with piranhas in the hallway you know you haven't entered a regular shop. When inside the corridor is lined up with exhibitions of different species of lizards and snakes. Besides the reptiles they also have other animals inside whose voices echo down the corridor, and on the glass of each enclosure there is a sign which tells the visitor whether the animal is venomous or not. Children were running down the corridor and shouted out "lizard" or "frog" as they pointed at the animals. One of the children ran down to the end of the corridor and bursted out "Hey! A plastic crocodile! I want to see real animals!" The child ran into the next room and the crocodile looked at the photographer as if he tried to send a wink.

In the next room there were monkeys playing both inside and outside of enclosures. In one of the enclosures an iguana tried to sleep, however, he was woken up when a monkey climbed up its tail and played on top of the iguana's head. While the photographer was in the room, staff came in and took out a big snake so that the visitors could pet it.

The center also has an outside area. Outside there are some birds and netted skywalks that the lizards can move through. One of the cockatoo fancied the camera and unfolded his head feathers in front of the lens. Lastly, as the photographer was on his way out of the center, a staff member came with a scorpion and showed the arthropod's fluoresces when exposed to ultraviolet light.
