Event photography published: 2023-07-20

Copenhagen waterside. It's a sunny day and the cherry blossoms are in full boom. A crowd of people has gathered in the shade. Langelinie park is known for its HC Andersen statue of The Little Mermaid, however, today people have gathered to watch the Copenhagen Sakura Festival.

The event takes place every year and is hosted by the Japanese Embassy. On stage were various displays and performances. Among them, how to wear a kimono, Japanese martial arts and more. A tsugaru shamisen band named Mitsune came all the way from Germany to perform and played until one of the strings snapped. For the final show, the audience was invited to dance bonodori together with the performers.
