In June midsummer is celebrated. In Sweden this traditional event is signified by the decoration of a midsummer pole. Rings are hung in the pole and it is fully covered in flowers. Everyone gathers around the may pole preferably in folk clothes, and girls with a ring of flowers on their head. The community then dances together around the pole under the blue sky with live music. One of the dances is the famous small frog dance where the participants jump like frogs and quack like ducks. Both adults and children participate in the dance and everyone laughs and smiles as they dance around.
The photos for this midsummer celebration were taken at Fredriksdal's Manor in Helsingborg, 2022. The manor was built in 1787. In 1918 the manor was donated to the city by the last private owner with the request that the area would be turned into an open-air-museum with a botanical garden.ref. As a result, to this day the old buildings have been preserved and inside old furniture, beds and weaving machines remain on display. There are still cows and pigs in the old pastures. Furthermore, every now and then horses pass by with a wagon with visitors.
